Step-by-step instructions
Assemble the rear wall frame
Lay the two 66-inch back posts parallel on a flat work surface. Position the 41-inch lower and upper back planter boards between the inner post faces, aligning the bottom board flush with the post base. Clamp the parts firmly while keeping the frame square.

Install horizontal trellis framing
With the rear frame still flat, place the 41-inch top trellis rail flush between the tops of the posts. Position the three 41-inch horizontal slats evenly between the upper planter board and top rail. Clamp all pieces securely against the post inner faces.

Assemble the front wall frame
Connect the planter side walls
Place vertical trellis slats

Cedar and other naturally rot-resistant woods are common choices for vegetable beds. If you plan to use pressure-treated lumber for food crops, check your local extension service’s guidance first. Use exterior-rated screws.
Change the size or design
This plan is one of the projects in the TimberLab app’s catalog. In the app you can turn the model in 3D, follow the assembly steps one part at a time, and ask for changes in plain words, such as “make it 6 inches shorter” or “add a shelf”. The cut list and shopping list update to match the new design.
